Become A Member 

Eligibility for Membership

Prospective members of the JLHP shall have an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service, and a desire to develop the skills and abilities that will better enable her to serve the community. ‚Äč 

Each prospective member must also:
  • Have reached her 21st birthday by August 1, 2018
  • Be a legal resident of High Point or the surrounding area for at least six months before her proposal of July 31, 2018.
  • Be sponsored by a current Active or Sustainer member. Candidates may also propose themselves if membership qualifications are met.
  • Complete an application and return it to the League office by July 31, 2018.

New Member  Requirements

Once your application is completed, your first year of membership (2018-2019) will be with New Member status. During your year, you will be trained and prepared for Active League status. In this role you will be an active part of activities but, you will not be eligible to serve in leadership positions on various committees. 

Additionally, the 2018-2019 League year New Member requirements are:

  • Pay Annual Dues of $185.00
  • Pay New Member Fee of $40.00
  • Attend all General Membership Meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month)
  • Attend all New  Member Training Meetings (1st Tuesday of each month)
  • Assist in a collaborative Project
  • Fulfill fundraising commitments:
    • Fall Fundraiser (Poinsettias): Work one 2-hour shift
    • Spring Fundraiser (TBA): Work two 2-hour shifts
  • Volunteer commitment:
    • Participate in three Community Impact events per-year
